Description: La Hidrografía fue delimitada e inventariada mediante el uso de Sistemas de Información Geografía (SIG) y Percepción Remota, y así mismo de información extraída de campo; con el uso las imágenes satelitales Landsat 5 TM del año 2010 se permitieron identificar las diferentes coberturas de agua dentro del departamento, siendo estas posteriormente contrastadas con la información oficial del Instituto Geográfico Nacional para la extracción de la toponimia de ciertos cursos de agua. La generación de la información cartográfica de la hidrografía regional se logró mediante la digitalización manual teniendo como insumo para este proceso a las imágenes de satélite Landsat TM5.
