Description: Se ha elaborado a partir de la línea de costa haciendo una zona de influencia de 5 millas náuticas o 9260 metros. La Ley General de Pesca (LGP), en el artículo 20 º, establece lo siguiente: «la actividad pesquera artesanal se define como aquella actividad realizada por personas naturales o jurídicas sin empleo de embarcación o con empleo de embarcaciones de hasta 32,6 m3 de capacidad de bodega y hasta 15 metros de eslora, con predominio de trabajo manual, que tiene como objetivo principal la extracción de recursos hidrobiológicos para atender la demanda interna de pescado fresco o congelado». Asimismo, la pesca artesanal debe utilizar artes y aparejos de pesca menores como el espinel, la beta, el sardinal, etc., y tiene un área exclusiva de pesca comprendida entre la línea de costa y las 5 millas náuticas como se ha mencionado anteriormente.
